Air Greenland was founded in 1964 and has operated in Greenland ever since. We are the national carrier of Greenland and consider ourselves experts in air travel in the arctic. Our headquarters are situated in the capitol of Nuuk, but we are represented in most Greenlandic towns and settlements.
The Fleet Air Greenland has the most diversified fleet of aircraft in the world, spanding from small 5-person helicopters to large 245-seater jet aircrafts with an interesting mix of aircraft in between. Our fleet is fit to the needs of Greenland, where mainly short runways and helistops are the gateways to the 170 towns and settlements of Greenland.
Domestic and international flights Apart from the domestic services we also offer flights between Denmark and Greenland using Kangerlussuaq and Narsarsuaq international airports as our hubs. Starting May 2007 a new route between Baltimore, USA, and Kangerlussuaq will open connecting Greenland to the Americas.
Getting to Ammassalik from the Greenlandic Westcoast is easily done on a bi-weekly scheduled service from Kangerlussuaq to Kulusuk. From Kulusuk airport Air Greenland operates a helicopter shuttle-service to Tasiilaq helistop.
Tickets Tickets can be booked on our website , through your local travel agency or by contacting Air Greenland Travel by telephone: +299 34 85 85. Please note that on the helicopter-shuttle between Kulusuk and Tasiilaq v.v. there is a limited capacity and that the flight is on a subsidized contract with the Greenlandic Selfrule Government. It may hence occur that the flight is sold out, but that extra capacity is later added. When booking; should you receive the message that the flight is sold out, please be patient and check back later.
Charter-flights Apart from scheduled services Air Greenland also offers charter-flights on both helicopters and fixed wing aircraft. Connect to Ammassalik via Kulusuk from anywhere in Greenland by e.g. using our VIP-aircraft, the King Air. From Tasiilaq we offer helicopter charters for scenic flights, exploration, health services, Search & Rescue and much more. Let your fantasy be your guide in this beautiful region.
Weekly helicopter-tours of the Ammassalik area are arranged through local tour-operators. You can even visit the settlements of the Ammassalik-region on one day trips using the scheduled services operated from Tasiilaq.
